I would like to thank TaNiesha and Josh Spor for nominating me this year. I feel both honored and humbled to be nominated by them and I enjoyed working with TaNiesha on the remodel of cabin # 7 along with many others including Kathy Pierce and Scott Koller. My wife Sue and I volunteered over 100 hours of our time on several trips to the ranch last year to work on cabin # 7 and we were happy to do it.

I am 64 years old and Sue and I live in Henderson, Nevada. I have been working hard my entire life since I was 14 years old to provide for myself, my wife and my family. Sue and I have 3 adult kids who are all military veterans and 6 grandchildren ranging in age from 8 months to 10 years old. I put myself through college and I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and my entire career has been working as a business owner or as a business manager, including 2 jobs over several years as an executive vice president of operations for 2 separate large companies. I was both an owner and a corporate executive with Baskin-Robbins and Dunkin-Donuts franchised stores.

As a former franchise owner I understand the need to respect the rights and desires of individual business owners, while at the same time respecting the need to maintain the integrity and objectives of the system as a whole to protect the brand and the future of the organization.

I love the fact that I am free to develop my own 20 acres within DSROA guidelines and create my own space and my own privacy, while still being part of a larger community that provides additional benefits and opportunities. I feel the challenges with DSR are similar to a franchise and I will work hard to respect and protect the rights of individual DSR lot owners, while at the same time working to protect, maintain and improve all of the aspects of DSR for the future that caused us to purchase our lots in the first place.>
